Emma’s session was fun because she was really relaxed making it easy to get natural looking photos. We spent the session with the usual combo of in-studio and location shots, but a lot of my favorites came from the in-studio portraits. Check them out below!
Sneak Peek: Andrew & Lacey
I just wanted to share one of my favorites from yesterday’s wedding at the Old Lantern in Charlotte. Although it wasn’t the winter wonderland that was hoped for, it was a fantastic day with blue skies and tons of spring sun. It was great to get back into wedding season (and we got to relive our day at the Lantern too). Congrats to Andrew and Lacey…I hope you had so much fun yesterday and I hope you have a fabulous honeymoon!
When we came home last night, all the sugar houses were boiling including our neighbors so the smell of maple sugar was in the crisp air. I’m guessing winter will make a reappearance, but I’ll soak it up while I can.

Senior: Seth
According to Seth’s Mom, he wasn’t interested in any bells and whistles during his shoot. Guys usually aren’t. But luckily I was able to coax him out back to get just a few shots outside. Even if it’s just for a few, it adds so much more variety. And for the guys I typically try to pick spots that have a little more “edge”. (Those spots are secretly some of my favorites!).
Senior: Heather
I have a few more senior shoots from last fall to finish up posting, starting with Heather. I think Heather had a little trepidation at the start of her shoot but she rocked it by the end. And she was a trooper and showed no signs of chill as we walked around town for our location shots. Despite the sun it was a little cold! Some of my favorites below…
Stina Who?
Well, I’m typing a little sheepishly right now because I know I haven’t posted anything for an entire month! Granted it’s the shortest month of the year, but that’s no excuse. I should be punished. But here’s why: I’m a new person. Totally new.
What do I mean? Well, I have a new name… which led to a new business name… which has led to a complete overhaul of everything related to my name and business! It’s been hard work. It took me a while after the wedding to decide whether or not I wanted to change my last name and when I finally decided to make the change it started a process that was much longer than I thought it would be.
I could have kept the biz name the same, but it turned out having two names was a touch confusing…especially for me. And I had toyed with changing the biz name for a while so this seemed like the right time to just get it all over with. Just tear the band-aid right off!
So for my past, present and future clients, let me introduce myself. I’m Stina Booth. I’m the owner and photographer of Studio SB. Same person, same style, same location…just a new name. See my new logo above? Ross Tanner from Flosites was the professional I turned to to design something funky and new and he did a great job.
To make a clean change I also decided to upgrade my website and blog and everything so that’s what has been in the works for the last month. I always underestimate how long it takes me to complete projects like that. I tend to agonize over every little design choice. So here we are a month later and the blog’s collecting dust. And I’m not done! Almost though…
So my end goal is to be done by the end of March but in the meantime finish up with posting some shoots from 2009. And now that I’m publishing a deadline I’ll be more likely to keep it! Plus I’m excited to be done with designing and jumping right into shooting season! Spring is in the air and we’ve got our first wedding of the year this weekend. I can’t wait!

March 3, 2010 - 2:54 pm - Thanks! I have to admit I had second thoughts once I realized the workload involved but it is fun to reinvent yourself! Hope the little guy is doing well!

March 3, 2010 - 5:36 pm - Love the new logo! Can't wait to see the whole new website, etc!! I know exactly how it is. We changed everything up last year during wedding season. It was overwhelming...but so worth it in the end!!

March 3, 2010 - 5:52 pm - I know, wedding season is approaching quickly…
Published!
Some of my local friends may have noticed already, but the winter issue of Vermont Bride features Chris & Laura, one of my fabulous couples from 2009. This is the first time that I’ve had a wedding published and I’m really excited! Laura was so sweet in her interview too…sniff, sniff, tear. You can read her full story here and see more photos.

January 28, 2010 - 10:46 pm - Thats awesome! Congratulations Stina! Thank you for sharing this! :-)

Haha you made me a celebrity!:) Thanks again for everything!!
March 3, 2010 - 5:53 pm - Oh that's awesome. You are a rockstar!
Wednesday PODs
Admittedly I have not been taking a photo every day as I had resolved to do for three months as a New Year’s resolution. But I have at least been taking more photos, even if I haven’t been posting them. Here’s a couple of new ones taken within the last week.
This was taken on one of those rare sunny days last week. I’ve been playing with my tilt-shift lens which gives me a really narrow spot of focus. I wish it was this blue today!
This one I took on the way to a meeting the other night. I love the industrial feel of this walkway in St. Albans.
I will keep trying to keep up with this goal. Only two months left already!!
Not-Quite-Senior: Laura
Although you might not be able to tell, Laura is not yet a senior. In fact, she’s not yet in high school! But Laura wanted something more special for her junior high yearbook than the run-of-the-mill in school photos and we had a lot of fun during her session. I have to give thanks though to her Mom and aunt Meg who were excellent stylists!
Senior: Jess
I can’t believe it, but I still need to catch up on my blogging from 2009! I’ve got a bunch more seniors and some families and e-shoots to share. Goodness, by the time I’m caught up it’s going to be wedding and portrait season again!
Here are my favorites from my session with Jess. Check out that stunning red hair!!
